Where has a year gone? Our baby's 1!!!

It's been a year of firsts, challenges, joys and sometimes a few tears. On Saturday (10th August) Lucy turned 1. As Saturday approached I thought a lot about where we were this time last year, especially the day she was born. For both Myke and I it was one the most exciting days but also one of the scariest. Because both of us weren't very well after she was born I spent most of the first day anxiously waiting to see her. Now a year later after being so desperate to get her into my arms I know she was worth the wait.

Lucy was born at 5lb 9oz. Now at a year old she is 20lb 3oz and is in 50th percentile.

The  most amazing thing about this year has been to see this completely new person begin to grow and develop. We can already see glimpses of the person she is going to become. So I thought I'd list some the traits we're already seeing in her.

Lucy is...

Determined....My Dad is always saying that she knows her own mind, and isn't afraid to let you know it!

Curious.....There is no nook or cranny that isn't under her investigation.

Problem-solver......She embodies the spirit of "can't go over it, guess I'll go 'round it, can't go 'round it guess I'll go under it"!

Humour.....She has a laugh that she puts on specifically when she thinks we're finding her funny.

Mischief....Whether its getting caught climbing the stairs, throwing Daddy's iPhone in the shower (whilst its on!), or stuffing toilet paper in the toilet there is always a glint in her eye when she's found out!

Lovable...Playing, cuddling, jabbering, or being silly she loves her little family (Sasha included!), albeit sometimes a little too much at 3am.

To celebrate Lucy's birthday we had some pictures taken of her and us as a family. We also threw a party on Saturday to mark the occasion.
